TESL Ontario’s annual recognition awards are back – and this year, we’re shining an even brighter spotlight on the incredible individuals who elevate our profession. Whether it’s a colleague, volunteer, mentor, or educator, now is the time to recognize their dedication, innovation, and passion for English language education.
Nominations are open for individuals who go above and beyond in supporting learners, uplifting peers, and shaping the future of language instruction.
Among the awards is the Distinguished Contribution Award, which honours long-term achievements and impactful volunteerism in the field. Previously known as the Silver Pin Award, it celebrates those whose sustained efforts have significantly advanced English language training in Ontario and beyond. Another highlight is the Sparks of Excellence Award, which acknowledges TESL Ontario members who demonstrate outstanding teaching, support or mentorship that exceeds the everyday expectations of their role.
New for 2025, we’re thrilled to introduce the Volunteer of the Year Award – a tribute to the individuals whose selfless service and community spirit enrich our organization. These are the behind-the-scenes heroes whose commitment helps drive TESL Ontario’s mission forward, and we can’t wait to share their stories.
